WHAT WE DO

At Chemcycle, we’re committed to tackling the global plastic waste challenge head-on. Through our innovative chemical engineering processes, we convert discarded plastic into valuable synthetic crude oil, significantly reducing environmental waste while generating essential commodities. Our mission is to advance environmental sustainability by transforming plastic waste into precious resources, embodying the principles of a circular economy. By doing so, Chemcycle demonstrates the transformative power of chemical engineering in creating sustainable solutions for a greener planet.

THE PROBLEM

Each year, millions of tons of plastic end up in landfills and natural environments, including oceans, where they pose severe threats to wildlife and ecosystems. This plastic waste not only takes hundreds of years to decompose but also releases harmful chemicals into the environment, contributing to pollution and health risks. Additionally, the increasing volume of plastic waste exacerbates the challenge of sustainable waste management, leading to overburdened landfills and increased greenhouse gas emissions.

INNOVATIVE APPROACH

Chemcycle utilizes pyrolysis, a sophisticated chemical recycling technique, to transform plastic waste into synthetic crude oil. This process involves the thermochemical breakdown of organic materials at high temperatures without oxygen.

Remarkably, 1 ton of plastic waste can yield about 50-65% of low-sulfur synthetic crude oil, contingent on the waste’s purity. The technology behind converting plastic waste into synthetic crude oil is grounded in a combination of thermal, chemical, and mechanical processes.

This innovative approach has been developed by ECI Group Thailand, incorporating expertise from technical specialists across Thailand, Singapore, China, and Germany.
